The Data Analytics Lead will support our Data Operations team in automating reporting and visualizations to aid both internal and external stakeholders for the Life Sciences research team. This includes investigating and correcting inconsistencies in the source data, designing custom solutions for project leads, and tying together data from various systems across Tempus for the use of the broader department.
Responsibilities
Use SQL to manage complex and nuanced datasets, troubleshoot quality issues, and support curation of data metrics for internal stakeholders
Creating unique and intuitive data visualizations and reports for management to summarize key insights across independent databases
Serve as a resource across internal teams for data quality and maintenance
Own documentation for internal processes impacting stakeholders across business units
Collect requirements from client managers to build targeted solutions for high priority customers
Identify and execute on opportunities for process automation within the business unit
Support accurate and timely execution of data deliverables for our Life Sciences sequencing collaborations
Validate, investigate, and resolve discrepancies across large datasets
Qualifications
3+ years SQL experience
2+ years data visualization experience
2+ years of industry experience in a data-related field
1+ years of hands-on experience with enterprise cloud computing and storage platforms (AWS, GCP etc)
Highly advanced Excel skills
Familiarity with Python and Jupyter Notebooks
Intermediate knowledge of genomic healthcare data, including molecular sequencing results, clinical patient information,
Experience with workbook scripting macros (i.e. VBA, Google AppScript, etc)
Clear communication and presentation skills, can articulate complex issues concisely
Thoughtful approach to writing code and creating comprehensive documentation
Ability to work independently to solve issues and drive projects forward
Comfortable building relationships and working collaboratively with project managers, data leads, bioinformatics scientists, sales, research, and other teams across the business
