Job Summary The Director of Federal Benefits & Healthcare Navigation will lead efforts to assist employees in understanding and accessing Social Security Disability (SSDI), Medicare, Medicaid, and other public healthcare programs. This role is ideal for a former Social Security Administration (SSA) employee who has worked extensively with benefit eligibility, adjudication, or program administration and is ready to apply their expertise in the private sector. This position will focus on education, consultation, and advocacy, helping employees transition to federal benefits when eligible. Additionally, the role will collaborate with brokers and employer benefits teams to ensure a seamless transition when a private insurance solution is needed.

Key Responsibilities Employee & Family Support • Provide one-on-one consultations with employees and their families to determine eligibility for Social Security Disability, Medicare, Medicaid, and VA benefits. • Guide employees through the application and enrollment processes for these programs. • Answer complex questions about benefit options, eligibility rules, and coordination with employer health plans.

Collaboration with Brokers & Employer Benefits Teams • Help brokers and employers understand how public and private benefits can work together to optimize cost savings and employee coverage.

Education & Outreach • Host webinars, workshops, and virtual Q&A sessions to educate employees about their federal benefit options. • Develop easy-to-understand educational materials on Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. • Provide training for HR teams, brokers, and benefits coordinators to support employees in navigating their options.

Financial Impact & Reporting • Assist in ROI analysis for employer clients, demonstrating the financial impact of benefits navigation. • Identify opportunities for policy improvements and strategic recommendations to enhance benefit utilization.

Required Qualifications • 5+ years of experience working for the Social Security Administration (SSA) in claims processing, adjudication, program administration, or policy analysis. • In-depth knowledge of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicare, Medicaid, and related programs. • Strong understanding of eligibility requirements, appeals processes, and benefit coordination. • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex federal programs in simple terms. • Ability to work independently in a remote setting, managing consultations and educational outreach effectively.

Preferred Qualifications • Experience in SSA regional or national policy work related to disability, retirement, or Medicare transitions. • Background in public benefits consulting, disability advocacy, or government affairs. • Experience working with HR teams or brokers to coordinate benefit transitions (preferred but not required).
