LOCATION: Lehi, UT (Hybrid)
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We're looking for a Mid-Level Backend Developer to join our team. You’ll play a key role in building and maintaining the backend services that power our platform. The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in backend development, enjoys solving real-world problems with clean and efficient code, and collaborates well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Write high-quality Mongo, SQL, and JavaScript code, developing tests to ensure reliability, functionality, and accuracy.
Review code from other developers, providing constructive feedback to maintain code quality.
Mentor junior developers, assisting with problem-solving and task execution.
Collaborate with mid to senior-level developers to define tasks, evaluate potential bugs, and address technological limitations.
Actively participate in meetings, contributing ideas and opinions to enhance team collaboration and project success.
QUALIFICATIONS:
3–5 years of backend development experience in a production environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Proven experience writing performant SQL to query large datasets.
Proven experience writing excellent JavaScript with a strong focus on quality and maintainability.
Solid understanding of software development best practices, including testing methodologies.
Previous experience mentoring junior developers.
Strong collaboration skills, able to work effectively with mid to senior-level developers, QA engineers, and product managers.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
A strong desire to write bug-free code.
Proven experience migrating companies to SQL is a major bonus.
Experience working with Product Designers to deliver a project.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Experience owning or regularly contributing to a company’s data layer with Strong experience with databases like Postgres.
Experience with back-end technologies such as Express, NodeJS, and database technologies like MongoDB.
Experience configuring and working in Docker.
Knowledge of designing APIs (RESTful, GraphQL, OpenAPI).
Proficient DevOps experience (AWS, CICD).
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript (ES6/ES7+), and Vue.js.
OUR TECHNOLOGY STACK:
JavaScript (Vue, Node.js, and MongoDB).
VueX for browser storage, MongoDB for production databases (We will eventually migrate to Postgres.).
Github and CircleCI for deployment and devops.
AWS (S3, Ec2, Code Deploy, Cloudfront).
Containerization with Docker.
