The Role:

This highly visible and impactful AE role will drive revenue growth and expand the customer base of the organization by pursuing new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with prospective customers, and closing sales deals. You’ll be one of the first boots on the ground — closing big deals and defining what great looks like in our go-to-market motion.

If the person filling the role isn’t in the Greater Lafayette, IN area, the expectation would be that they commit to traveling to be on-site with the team at least once per month for the first 6 months of the role (after which the hybrid work/ travel situation will be revisited).

What you will do:

  • Follow up on identified leads to qualify, build, and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders, understand their business challenges and goals, position the company as a trusted partner, and generate sales.
  • Independently research and identify potential leads and customers to include in cold calling, networking events, social media campaigns, and industry association activities that result in sales.
  • Conduct sales presentations and product demonstrations to showcase the features, benefits, and value proposition of the company's products and services to prospective customers.
  • Manage the sales pipeline and opportunities in CRM systems, tracking progress, updating status, and providing accurate sales forecasts to management.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, competitor activities, and customer needs, and provide insights and recommendations to sales leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, product development, and customer support, to align sales strategies with overall business objectives and deliver integrated solutions to customers.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5+ years sales expertise in a technical field, with at least some experience in cybersecurity, and a strong record of driving revenue growth
  • Startup-ready: you move fast, figure things out, and love building from zero
  • Knowledge and experience with CRM applications (e.g., HubSpot)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation and persuasion skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers and close sales deals
  • A focus on customer satisfaction and success, ability to build rapport with customers, understand their needs, and articulate value propositions effectively
  • Bachelor’s degree
