We're looking for an AI Engineer to join our team and help us achieve our mission of unlocking every writer’s potential. As an AI Engineer at NoRedInk, you’ll build features as part of collaborative teams of product managers, designers and other engineers all focused on helping teachers more easily assign & grade authentic writing assignments that students are able to complete with confidence as they hone their language and writing skills. In this role, you would be working with a team focused on building features that leverage AI/ML technologies to improve the experience of students & teachers. In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with the team to architect, build and deploy features that leverage AI/ML models generally and LLMs in particular, including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, model validation
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate AI solutions into existing infrastructure, optimizing scalability, operation, accuracy and cost
  • Evaluate advancements in AI/ML methods and technologies and assess their applicability to our objectives, ultimately translating business needs into technical solutions that add value
  • Identify opportunities to enhance our AI/ML technology stack by building or recommending tools, technologies & processes to manage AI/ML models & related features
  • Foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the company by sharing knowledge and expertise in AI technologies.

About You:

  • 4+ years of professional experience building and deploying solutions in production that leverage ML models while keeping scalability, security, observability, testability and privacy in mind
  • 1+ years of experience building and deploying solutions in production that leverage LLMs in particular
  • Strong knowledge of and experience leveraging AI/ML concepts, NLP, deep learning as well as supervised learning, LLMs, RAGs & generative AI
  • Proficient in using LangChain, TensorFlow, Keras, &c.
  • Experience building SaaS applications deployed on AWS
  • Interested in functional languages like Elm and Haskell and comfortable working with languages like Python & Ruby
  • Experience with MLOps, data engineering and data management a plus

Compensation at NoRedInk is robust and includes a full range of benefits, unlimited PTO, monthly co-working stipends, an initial home-office set-up stipend, and generous equity. Our salary ranges are based on factors such as expectations in the job description, location-specific market data, internal parity, and the experience and skills of individual candidates. Therefore, the compensation range is $130,000.00 - $200,000.00 USD, accounting for various locations and skills/expertise.
