So, what’s the role?
We are looking for a Litigation Claims Supervisor with a demonstrated skill set in first-party litigation in Property & Casualty Insurance. As a Litigation Claims Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of adjusters who handle first-party litigated claims, including documenting the claim file, discussing and proposing legal strategies, and analyzing legal budgets and invoices while assisting with settlement negotiations.
This role will require an individual who has experience in complex jurisdictions, such as Florida, Louisiana, California, and Texas. You will have the ability to make an immediate impact as you will help to hire, plan, schedule, and administer resources that are required to exceed.
A day in the life could include:
Collaborating with outside counsel, internal claims counsel, and claims leadership in developing strategies to provide the best results
Assisting litigation adjusters in reviewing new suit assignments and monitoring and developing ongoing litigation strategy
Facilitating coaching and mentoring sessions with employees, including adherence, feedback, opportunities for improvement, and enhancing the quality of work
Targeted and detail-oriented review of legal documents including but not limited to Pleadings, Discovery, and Motions to ensure congruence with the initial suit-handling plan of action
Reviewing and authorizing claim strategies and resolutions, ensuring that decisions are backed by thorough coverage analysis for moderate to complex cases.
Tracking and analyzing team performance metrics, proactively identifying trends, and addressing any deficiencies to maintain a high standard of work.
Handling calls and customer escalations and removing any roadblocks
Ensuring accurate and timely reporting of individual and team metrics and behaviors
Analyzing data to understand the current state and proactively plan for short and long-term changes
Focused review of legal invoices
Identifying training needs to meet job objectives, goals, and company policies and procedures
Preparing and maintaining documentation and job aids
Assisting with training on claim investigation, evaluation, and settlement techniques
Analyzing coverage, policy interpretation, and providing direction
Holding the team accountable for accuracy and quality of all claim files
Maintaining accurate employee records: vacations, absences, and personal time
I’ve got the skills… but do I have the necessary ones?
8+ years of first-party property claims adjusting; 3+ years with a complex focus
Experience overseeing and directing a team of litigation adjusters
Litigation billing management experience
Proficient in tools such as Excel, G Suite, Slack, and Xactimate
Issue resolution: you can identify pain points and find the right solution
Ability to lead and empower a high-performing team while supporting organizational change
