The Hummingbirds, Inc. Social Media Content Specialist Remote · Full time Company website
About Hummingbirds Hummingbirds is an all-in-one campaign management platform that connects brands with local content creators (our “hummingbirds”) to create authentic, word-of-mouth marketing at scale. We help brands activate creators across 80+ U.S. cities through creator campaigns and other digital experiences designed to drive awareness, engagement, and real-world action. We’re growing quickly, and our Social Media Content Specialists play an important role in making sure both brands and creators have an exceptional experience along the way.
Description
The Social Media Content Specialist Role
As a Social Media Content Specialist, you’ll help make sure campaigns run smoothly from start to finish and that our creators have the support they need along the way.
A big part of your day will be reviewing creator content, making sure it meets campaign requirements, and giving clear feedback when something needs to change. You’ll also help creators stay on track with deadlines, answer questions, troubleshoot issues, and make decisions when something doesn’t go exactly according to plan. You’ll also help build campaign briefs based on what our brands are looking for, so being a strong writer and understanding social media content are both important parts of the job.
This role is a great fit for someone who is detail-oriented, has good judgment, communicates clearly, and genuinely understands and enjoys social media. If you naturally notice the details, can think through what a brand or creator may need, and already spend plenty of time on Instagram and TikTok, you’ll have a great foundation for the role.
We also see this as a growth role at Hummingbirds. You’ll learn our business from the ground up and get experience across creators, brands, campaigns, and our products. As you master the core role, there are opportunities to take on more complex work, contribute to team initiatives, and grow into senior-level or other roles within Hummingbirds based on your performance, strengths, interests, and the needs of the company.
Key Responsibilities
Content Review & Campaign Completion
- Review creator content to make sure it meets campaign requirements and is something the brand will be happy with.
- Give creators clear, helpful feedback when content needs to be updated.
- Track campaign completion and follow up with creators about upcoming and past-due deadlines.
- Help hold creators accountable for completing high-quality work accurately and on time.
- Track completion issues and unreliable creator behavior so we can make better decisions for future campaigns.
- Use good judgment when something doesn’t fit neatly into a standard process.
Creator Support
- Answer questions from creators participating in campaigns or using other Hummingbirds products, including Offers.
- Help creators understand campaign requirements, deadlines, platform processes, and what they need to do next.
- Help with extension requests, campaign issues, and other situations that come up along the way.
- Troubleshoot issues when you can and know when something needs to be escalated to someone else.
- Be supportive and empathetic while still holding creators accountable to campaign expectations.
- Make sure creators are getting accurate and consistent information from our team.
Campaign Development
- Use Hummingbirds’ tools, including proprietary AI tools, to create campaign briefs based on brand goals and requirements.
- Turn brand direction into clear instructions that creators can easily understand and execute.
- Make sure campaign briefs accurately reflect brand guidelines, requirements, and deliverables.
- Stay familiar with Instagram and TikTok trends and what makes creator content feel natural and engaging.
- Carefully incorporate feedback and edits from brands and internal team members.
Team & Operational Support
- Work closely with Associate Customer Success Managers and other teams to make sure campaigns stay on track and both brands and creators have a great experience.
- Take ownership of issues that come up, working to find a solution and knowing when something needs to be escalated.
- Keep campaign information, internal documentation, and team resources accurate and up to date.
- Look for recurring questions, inefficient processes, or opportunities to make the way we work better - and share your ideas with the team.
- Participate in team meetings, training, and other opportunities to share knowledge and improve how we work.
- Help test and adopt new tools, processes, and product changes as Hummingbirds continues to grow.
- Jump in on other operational priorities when the team needs support.
Qualifications:
We’re open to different backgrounds. A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is great, but relevant work or internship experience in social media, content creation, copywriting, customer support, marketing, or a similar area works too.
More importantly, we’re looking for someone who:
- Is very detail-oriented and a strong, clear writer.
- Has good judgment and can think through problems independently while knowing when to ask for help.
- Understands social media and has a good instinct for what makes creator content work.
- Can give clear feedback and hold people accountable while still being thoughtful and empathetic.
- Is adaptable and comfortable in a growing startup where priorities and processes will change.
- Looks for better ways to do things and is comfortable sharing ideas, feedback, and suggestions.
- Takes ownership, learns quickly, and is willing to jump in where needed.
- Is comfortable using AI tools like ChatGPT and Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Calendar, Sheets, etc.).
