Who We Are
We're Bizzy - on a mission to Energize Bizzy People through great-tasting, craft beverages with effective benefits. We're building a billion-dollar brand at retail by 2034, and we're well on our way as the fastest growing company in the category. If you're the kind of finance leader who loves building scalable systems, sweating the details, and helping a high-growth team make better decisions - keep reading.
The Role
This is a department-leading role for a hands-on accounting leader who's ready to own it. Reporting directly to the CFO, you'll lead the accounting function at Bizzy - owning the close, financial reporting, cost accounting, inventory, controls, and the systems and processes that keep our numbers accurate as we scale. You'll lead one direct report and work closely with Operations and the broader leadership team.
We need someone who can operate at both levels: deep in the details when the close, inventory, or ERP needs attention, and high enough to turn the numbers into clear business insight. You'll strengthen our accounting foundation, improve visibility into margins and working capital, and build a finance function ready for the next stage of growth.
This role is 100% onsite. We build things together, in person.
What You'll Do
Accounting, Close & Financial Reporting
- Own the month-end and year-end close, delivering timely and accurate GAAP financial statements.
- Own the general ledger, chart of accounts, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and account-level review.
- Lead the core accounting operation, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, sales deductions, and cash application.
- Establish, document, and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, close calendars, and internal controls.
- Ensure financial reporting is accurate, well-supported, and ready for executive, lender, and external review.
Cost Accounting, Inventory & Working Capital
- Own manufacturing cost accounting and inventory accounting, with a significant focus on inventory accuracy, valuation, and cost of goods sold.
- Partner with Plant Management and Operations to analyze manufacturing performance, inventory movements, yields, write-offs, and cost variances.
- Understand and maintain ERP set-ups, calculations, and postings that drive manufacturing and inventory results; identify and correct issues that could compromise financial integrity.
- Build clear weekly and monthly visibility into inventory, working capital, and cash conversion, and help drive improvements.
Reporting & Business Partnership
- Prepare weekly and monthly reporting that explains business performance versus prior periods, budget, and forecast.
- Interpret operating results and turn accounting data into clear recommendations for margin improvement, cost reduction, and stronger cash flow.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations and leadership to make sure financial data is understood and used in day-to-day decisions.
- Support the CFO with financial modeling, scenario analysis, forecasts, and ad hoc analysis as needed.
Audit, Tax & Compliance
- Lead the annual financial statement audit or review process and serve as the primary accounting contact for external partners.
- Coordinate tax matters and information requests with external advisors.
- Support annual insurance renewals, lender reporting, and other compliance requirements.
- Maintain a control environment and documentation standard that can scale with the business.
Team, Systems & Process
- Lead and develop the accounting team, including hiring, training, prioritization, and performance management as the function grows.
- Drive process improvement and automation across QuickBooks Online, the manufacturing ERP, and connected accounting workflows.
- Build repeatable processes and clear ownership so the accounting function becomes faster, cleaner, and more scalable over time.
Who You Are
- Wildly Ambitious - You set big goals, push for greatness, and never stop looking for ways to improve.
- Dream Team player - You bring positive energy, communicate openly, and make the people around you better.
- Five Star executor - You care about the craft. You don't ship mediocre work.
- Consumer obsessed - You go above and beyond to understand what your consumer wants - and you deliver it.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including meaningful ownership of the close and financial reporting process.
- Controller, Assistant Controller, Accounting Manager, or comparable leadership experience in a manufacturing environment; food and beverage or CPG experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and full-cycle accounting, with hands-on experience in cost accounting and inventory accounting.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online and a manufacturing ERP; experience improving or implementing accounting systems is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial modeling, scenario, sensitivity, and variance analysis capabilities.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes, explain variances, and communicate results concisely.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to work directly with executive-level management and cross-functional leaders.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment where you build the process while operating it.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA preferred but not required.
